Welcome to "The Luck of the Irish" 5k / 10K and 1 Mile Fitness Walk.  This is race #6 in the 6 race Great Lakes Winter Run Series. (We are offering a 15K option for this race also)

This is Race # 6 in the Great Lakes Multisport Winter Run Series, the Luck of the Irish Run participants ALL Receive a gender specific Leslie Jordan Tech Tee or a Gender specific Gildan LS cotton event tee (or you can elect NO Tee and that fee is an additional donation to RACC (Racers Against Childhood Cancer).  YOUR REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETE 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT TO ENSURE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR TEE SHIRT ON RACE DAY.  TEE SHIRT SIZES OR STYLES CANNOT BE EXCHANGED FOR A DIFFERENT SIZE OR STYLE - DUE TO THE SHIRTS BEING ORDERED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE SIZES AND STYLES SELECTED 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE EVENT.  TEE SHIRT EXCHANGES CAN BE ATTEMPTED AT THE RACE SITES AFTER THE EVENTS ARE OVER FOR THE DAY.

Post race food and drink are provided.

ALL GLM WINTER SERIES RACES PROVIDE INDOOR FACILITIES FOR OUR ATHLETES TO STAY WARM AND DRY UNTIL THE START OF THE EVENT.

 PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THESE ARE WINTER RUNS AND CONDITIONS CAN BE CHALLENGING.  THE RACE ROUTES COULD BE SNOW COVERED, SLIPPERY OR WET.  THE TEMPERATURE IS UNPREDICTIBLE AND CAN BE VERY COLD.  PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY AND DO NOT RUN IF YOU FEEL THAT CONDITIONS ARE DANGEROUS.

1Mile Fitness Walk -   This Walk will start and finish near the registration and packet pick up area.  This course is an out and back course.  One Loop.  

5K Run - This 5K run will start and finish under the finish line arch.   This is a out and back course. It is 1 1/2 Loops.

10K Run - This 10K run will start and finish under the finish line arch.  This is an out and back course.  Two and one half (2 1/2) Loops for the 10K race.  The 15K race is 3 1/2 loops.  

GLM proudly presents awards to the first three overall female and male winners of the 5K event and the 10K event.  No awards are presented for the 1 Mile Fitness Walk.  

The overall top three are removed from the age group awards.  

GLM Proudly awards the top 10 in each age group medals for both males and females.

Age Categories are Under 16, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and up. Overall winners will be ineligible for age group awards.

Age Group Awards and Series Awards will be determined by using the athletes age as of 12/31/2012.

Volunteers are the backbone of any race organization.  GLM has a great core of volunteers and would love to have you join the group.  There are many areas that you could participate in.  Parking, registration, post race food, course marshalling, finish line, awards, tee shirts, etc. 

Get a front row seat as a volunteer! Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with participant registration, directing athletes on and off the course, and handing out water and food. All volunteers receive a t-shirt, food during the race and a big thank you!!!

 Series Points are SEPARATE for 5K and 10K races.  5K results cannot be transferred to the 10K and visa versa.  You must run a minimum of 4 races at a specific distance to be eligible for SERIES Awards at that distance.  Your best 5 races at that distance will count for Series Awards.

Points are awarded for the top 10 overall males and females and the top 10 males and females in each age group for each race. (The Overall top three are included in the age group results for series points and then the top three Overall Series winners will be removed from the age group results at the end of the series)

1st - 25pts, 2nd - 22pts, 3rd - 20pts, 4th - 18pts, 5th - 16pts, 6th - 15pts, 7th - 14pts, 8th - 13pts, 9th - 12pts, 10th - 11pts. 

Series Awards will be given to the top 3 point totals in the overall for men and women and also for the top 3 point totals in each age group for men and women.

Individuals who receive awards in the overall divisions will be removed from the age group results.

AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE SERIES BANQUET FOLLOWING THE SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP RACE — THE LUCK OF THE IRISH RUN — Race # 6.

 GLM will be awarding a series Team Championship for the 2012 / 2013 GLM Winter Run Series.  Each team will score points in ALL 6 events.  Points will be awarded as follows:

- A Maximum of 10 scores will count for any team in each event.

- Overall top 3 in Men's or Woman's 5K or 10K.    10pts, 8pts, 6pts.

- Age Group top 3 in Men's or Woman's 5K or 10K.   5pts, 3pts, 1pt.

Awards will be presented to the top 3 Teams at the end of the Series.
